Lithium packs and financing for e-rickshaws, 2W and 3W

Mobility Solutions

This is where Wingzman started. Over 30 lakh e-rickshaw drivers in India run on lead-acid packs that are exhausted inside a year, and the reason is rarely ignorance — it is that a lithium pack costs more on the day you buy it. We work on both halves of that problem: better packs, and a way to pay for them that matches how a driver actually earns.

Capabilities

What Mobility covers

Packs for 2W, 3W and e-rickshaws

LFP packs built for Indian duty cycles — heat, dust, rough roads and daily deep discharge — with a BMS that protects the cells rather than just reporting on them.

Financing through NBFC partners

EMI plans arranged with RBI-regulated lending partners, so a driver can upgrade without finding the full amount up front. Terms and charges are set out in the Key Fact Statement before anything is signed.

15-minute underwriting

A 360° credit view that reads informal earning patterns alongside formal bureau data, so drivers who are creditworthy but thin-file are not turned away by default.

Flexible daily repayment

Repayment aligned to a driver earning daily rather than monthly, tracked in the app so the balance is never a surprise.

IoT monitoring

Pack telemetry on charge, health and usage — which is what makes both the service promise and the credit decision possible.

Local service teams

On-ground technicians for installation and support, because a pack that takes a week to look at is a pack that costs its owner a week of earnings.

Where it applies

Three situations we see most often

Stated as the problem first, because the system is only worth specifying once the problem is.

E-rickshaw drivers

The problem
Lead-acid sets replaced every year or so, with range falling away for months before that.
What we do
A financed lithium pack that outlasts several lead-acid sets, repaid daily out of the earnings it supports.

Fleet operators

The problem
No visibility into which packs in a fleet are healthy and which are about to strand a vehicle.
What we do
Monitored packs with health and usage reporting across the fleet, plus a single service relationship.

OEMs and dealers

The problem
Sales lost at the counter because the customer cannot fund the purchase that day.
What we do
Financing and pack supply that sits behind the dealer, so the affordability conversation has an answer.

Run the numbers

What would it save you?

Every recommendation on this page comes down to arithmetic. Here is the same arithmetic, with your numbers instead of ours — including the cases where the answer is no.

Lithium or lead-acid — what does each really cost?

A lead-acid set is cheaper on the day. Over a few years of daily running, replacements and charging decide the answer. Put your own numbers in.

Estimated saving

Lead-acid over 5 years5 sets + ₹99,840 charging₹2.60 L
Lithium over 5 years1 pack + ₹81,120 charging₹1.86 L
You keep₹73,720

Cost per kilometre

Lead-acid1.85
Lithium1.33

Over 1,40,400 km

An estimate from your inputs, not a quotation. Prices vary by capacity, chemistry and city — and a pack treated badly will not reach the life you enter here.

How this is calculated

Replacements are rounded up. A set that expires eleven months into a five-year period still has to be bought. Rounding down here is the most common way this comparison gets quietly tilted towards lead-acid.

Charging cost = working days × 12 × years × units per charge × tariff, assuming one full charge per working day. Lead-acid draws more from the wall for the same useful energy, which is why the two figures differ.

Not included: financing cost if the pack is bought on EMI, resale or scrap value of either option, water topping and maintenance on lead-acid, and earnings lost to downtime when a set fails mid-shift. The last two favour lithium; the first depends on your terms — use the EMI calculator for that.

Lithium life assumes reasonable charging behaviour. Habitually charging to 100% and parking in direct sun will not deliver the figure you enter above.

Financing

From first conversation to a pack on the road

Loans are extended by our RBI-regulated NBFC partners. Wingzman supplies the pack, the monitoring and the service behind it.

  1. STEP 1

    We find you

Field agents work the areas we operate in, so the first conversation happens where the driver already is.

  2. STEP 2

    15-minute underwriting

A 360° credit view combining formal bureau data with informal earning signals. Minimal paperwork, decision the same day.

  3. STEP 3

    Installation

Fitted by trained technicians, with the wiring, mounting and charger checked rather than assumed.

  4. STEP 4

    Monitoring

IoT telemetry on charge, health and usage — which is what lets us support the pack instead of waiting for a complaint.

  5. STEP 5

    Daily repayment

Instalments sized to daily earnings and tracked in the app, with the Key Fact Statement setting out every charge up front.

Wingzman is not a lender. Credit is provided by RBI-regulated NBFC partners listed on our lending partners page, and every borrower receives a Key Fact Statement setting out the rate, charges and total amount payable before signing.

Questions

The ones we are asked first

How long does a lithium e-rickshaw battery last?
Well-treated LFP packs run for several years of daily use, against roughly a year for a typical lead-acid set. The variable that matters most is not the brand — it is charging behaviour and heat. A pack habitually charged to 100% and left in the sun ages far faster than the same pack treated carefully.
Who provides the loan?
Loans are extended by RBI-regulated NBFC lending partners, not by Wingzman. Our lending partners are listed on the site, and every borrower receives a Key Fact Statement setting out the interest rate, charges and total amount payable before signing.
What if a driver has no credit history?
That is the common case rather than the exception. Underwriting reads informal signals about earnings and route patterns alongside formal bureau data, which is what makes a decision possible for a thin-file borrower.
Is lithium worth the higher price?
Compare cost per kilometre over three years rather than price on the day. A lithium pack that outlasts three lead-acid sets, holds its range through its life and needs no topping up usually wins that comparison — but it is a calculation worth doing with your own numbers.
