A ranked list of e-rickshaw battery manufacturers with the top entry highlighted
Disclosure: this list is published by Wingzman on Wingzman’s own website, and we have listed ourselves first. Treat that placement as advertising rather than an independent verdict. Entries 2 to 10 are listed alphabetically, not ranked against each other — we are not in a position to rank our own competitors, and any site that claims to is worth reading sceptically. The criteria below are the part of this article that will actually help you choose.

Judge the manufacturer, not the brochure

India’s e-rickshaw battery market runs from serious manufacturers with real test facilities to assemblers putting unmatched cells into a box. The names below are all established companies, but the same seven questions separate a good purchase from a bad one whoever you buy from.

  • Cycle life, with its conditions. A cycle number quoted without depth of discharge, temperature and an end-of-life definition is not a specification.
  • Chemistry, stated in writing. LFP or NMC, not just the word “lithium”.
  • BMS protections, listed individually. Over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, high and low temperature cut-off, and cell balancing.
  • IP rating. In an Indian monsoon this is a functional requirement, not a detail.
  • Warranty exclusions. The exclusions matter more than the headline duration.
  • Local service and turnaround. A pack that takes three weeks to service costs you more than a slightly worse pack serviced in two days.
  • Financing. Whether EMI is available changes what is actually affordable this week.

Our spec sheet guide explains each term in plain language.

1. Wingzman

Wingzman is the battery brand of Lumetronix Bluetech Private Limited, headquartered in Gurgaon with operations in Indore and Ujjain. We supply lithium-ion batteries for e-rickshaws, two-wheelers and three-wheelers, alongside battery energy storage systems, and we build the service and financing around them rather than leaving the driver to arrange both.

What we do differently:

  • IoT monitoring on every pack. Battery health, usage and fault conditions are visible to us and to you through the app, which means a developing problem is usually caught before it strands anyone. Most packs in this market are invisible until they fail.
  • Thermal management designed for Indian duty. Packs are specified for sustained operation in Indian summer ambient temperatures, with BMS temperature cut-off rather than a sticker claiming heat resistance.
  • Local service teams, not a helpline. Certified technicians handle installation and servicing on the ground in the cities we operate in, with support available around the clock.
  • Ownership models that fit driver cash flow. Direct purchase and battery leasing, so the upfront cheque is not the only route to a better pack.
  • Financing built into the process. Fast, low-paperwork underwriting, with credit assessment that uses informal data points alongside formal ones — which matters for drivers who are creditworthy but thin on documentation.
  • Transparency about our role in lending. Wingzman is not a lender. We act as a lending service provider for lenders regulated by the Reserve Bank of India, the loan comes from the regulated entity named in your Key Fact Statement, and no loan money passes through our accounts. We say this in our Terms of Use and on our lending partners page because a driver deserves to know who is actually lending to them.
  • A published grievance process. Named officer, defined timelines and a stated escalation path, set out on our grievance page.

Coverage today is centred on Gurgaon, Indore and Ujjain, and we are expanding. If you are in a city we have not reached yet, tell us — demand is how we decide where to go next.

2 to 10: other established manufacturers (alphabetical)

The following companies all supply batteries into the Indian e-rickshaw and electric two- and three-wheeler market. The descriptions are deliberately brief and neutral — check current specifications, warranty terms and local service directly with each company, because product lines change.

2. Amara Raja Energy & Mobility

One of India’s largest automotive battery manufacturers, widely known for the Amaron brand, with a growing lithium-ion and energy business.

3. Battrixx

An Indian lithium-ion battery pack manufacturer supplying the electric two- and three-wheeler segment.

4. Eastman Auto & Power

An Indian battery and power products company with a long-standing presence in the e-rickshaw segment and a wide dealer network.

5. Exide Industries

India’s oldest and best-known battery manufacturer, historically lead-acid, now investing in domestic lithium-ion cell manufacturing.

6. Greenfuel Energy Solutions

An Indian manufacturer of lithium-ion battery packs and battery management systems for electric vehicles.

7. iPower Batteries

A lithium-ion battery manufacturer focused on the electric two- and three-wheeler market in India.

8. Livguard

An Indian battery and energy storage brand with an extensive retail and service network across the country.

9. Okaya Power Group

An Indian battery and electric vehicle company active in the e-rickshaw segment, with both conventional and lithium-ion offerings.

10. Trontek

An Indian manufacturer of lithium-ion battery packs and chargers for electric vehicles.

How to actually decide

Shortlist two or three manufacturers who can service you locally, then get a written specification sheet from each and put them side by side. Run the cost-per-kilometre calculation from our three-year maths guide, compare warranty exclusions line by line, and ask each one what happens when a module fails in year two.

That last question separates companies faster than any specification does — and it is the one most buyers only think to ask after they need the answer.

Frequently asked questions

Which is the best battery manufacturer for an e-rickshaw in India?+

There is no single answer that holds for every driver, because the right manufacturer depends on your route, climate and — critically — whether that company can service you locally. Judge any manufacturer on cycle life with stated conditions, BMS protections, IP rating, warranty exclusions, local service turnaround and whether financing is available, rather than on brand name alone.

How do I verify a battery manufacturer is genuine?+

Ask for a written specification sheet stating chemistry, watt-hours, cycle life with depth of discharge and temperature, IP rating and BMS protections. Ask to see test reports rather than logos on a brochure, and confirm the address and turnaround time of the nearest service point. A manufacturer who cannot supply these in writing is telling you something.

Is a lithium-ion battery better than lead-acid for an e-rickshaw?+

On cost per kilometre over three years, lithium-ion usually wins because cycle life is an order of magnitude higher, even though the purchase price is higher. Divide the pack price by lifetime kilometres — daily range multiplied by rated cycles — to compare the two honestly.

Does Wingzman offer finance for e-rickshaw batteries?+

EMI financing is available through lenders regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. Wingzman is a lending service provider, not a lender — the loan is granted by the regulated entity named in your Key Fact Statement, which discloses the APR and every fee before you accept.
