Western UP: extreme heat, and winter mornings
Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Noida, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur see both ends of the range. Peak summer afternoons are punishing, and January mornings are cold enough to visibly cut range.
Two different things are happening, and drivers often confuse them. Heat damage is permanent — the capacity you lose to a hot summer does not come back. Cold weakness is temporary — range returns as the pack warms up during the day. If your range recovered in March, you had a cold problem. If it did not, you had a heat problem.
For western UP, ask specifically whether the BMS has a low-temperature charge cut-off. Charging a very cold lithium pack is genuinely harmful, and a good BMS refuses to do it.
Central UP: relentless stop-start duty
Lucknow, Kanpur and Prayagraj are stop-start cities. Charbagh, Aminabad and Hazratganj in Lucknow, or the areas around Kanpur Central, involve constant acceleration from standstill with a full load.
Every hard acceleration is a high-current draw, and high current means heat. This is the one variable a driver fully controls: accelerating a second more gently, and coasting into stops instead of braking late, measurably extends both daily range and pack life. It is the highest-value free habit available in these cities.
Eastern UP: longer routes and pilgrim loads
Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Sultanpur and Jaunpur combine long duty days with heavy passenger loads during festival and pilgrim seasons. Overloading is the dominant battery problem here — every extra kilo comes out of the same pack, and a consistently overloaded vehicle ages its battery noticeably faster.
Where routes are long and charging points are not always convenient, usable watt-hours matter more than they do in dense city work. Size the pack for your actual worst day, not your average one.
Monsoon and road conditions statewide
Waterlogging in the older parts of Varanasi, Kanpur, Bareilly and Gorakhpur makes IP rating a practical requirement rather than a specification detail. And on rougher roads across the state, vibration works mounting bolts loose and chafes cabling — a weekly two-minute check of clamps and cable runs prevents a category of failure that is otherwise invisible until it strands you.
